iPhone 17, Pro, Pro Max, Air Leak: New Chips, Design, Features
Apple may launch iPhone 17, Pro, Pro Max, and Air with better chips, AI tools, 50W MagSafe charging, and new lightweight design. Launch expected in September.

Apple Inc. is reportedly planning to launch four smartphones under the iPhone 17 banner later this year. The upcoming models are expected to include the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new variant potentially named the iPhone 17 Air. These devices are set to feature next-gen chips, improved imaging capabilities, and quicker wireless charging options.
According to multiple sources familiar with Apple’s internal developments, the new series will arrive with 120Hz OLED panels and ship with iOS 26 pre-installed. In addition, artificial intelligence functions are being integrated into the core experience across the lineup.
A major design change is expected with the introduction of the iPhone 17 Air. This slimmer variant may adopt a redesigned rear housing with a single camera lens set inside a horizontal layout, along with a more refined Dynamic Island. The Air model could stand apart as Apple discontinues its "Plus" range of devices.
Regulatory data also indicates that Apple is preparing to unveil new MagSafe accessories. Two model numbers, A3502 and A3503, support Qi 2.2 wireless charging standards and are capable of delivering up to 50W power. These chargers are expected to retain the recognizable white magnetic pad, now equipped with braided cables in multiple lengths.
Design-wise, Apple appears to be bringing aluminum construction across all iPhone 17 variants, including the Pro series. This move reverses its earlier transition from aluminum to stainless steel and more recently, titanium in the iPhone 15 Pro. If accurate, the return to aluminum suggests a renewed focus on lightweight form factors without compromising strength.
In terms of processors, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will reportedly run on Apple’s A19 Pro chip, based on an upgraded 3nm process. The standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air are expected to carry either the base A19 chip or possibly reuse the A18 platform to manage costs.
Historically, Apple announces new iPhones in early to mid-September, and the same pattern is likely for the iPhone 17 series. However, reports hint at a delay for the iPhone 17E, which may only be introduced in 2026.
Price forecasts suggest the entry-level iPhone 17 will launch around Rs 89,900 in India, $899 in the U.S., and approximately AED 3,799 in the UAE. This pricing is slightly higher than its predecessor but aligns with inflation and supply chain adjustments.
